Scripture

“The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword.”

Please comment, leaving verses of hope. (no talking donkeys please)

So far the two most helpful passages for me have been:

Proverbs 16 (the entire chapter) v.9 summarizes “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines their steps.”

Philippians 4 (the entire chapter) v. 6-7 “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

  1. I Love You, son! Your mom and I are truly blessed to see how you are trusting God in this new journey. We trust that He is in control and will use you everyday that He gives you to make a difference in the Kingdom for Jesus. The verse I am holding on to for you is Jeremiah 17:7, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord; whose confidence is in Him.”

    Dad

  2. “Fear not: [there is nothing to fear] for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you [to difficulties]; yes I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My victorious right hand of rightness and justice” (Isaiah 41:10 Amplified Bible)

  3. How precious are your thoughts about me,O God.
    They cannot be numbered!
    I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
    And when I wake up,
    you are still with me!

    Psalm 139:17-18
    New Living Translation (NLT)

  4. Stephen, As I was reading your blog posts, this is the scripture that came immediately to mind, so I wanted to pass it along to you! Praying for you by name each day!
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  5. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers. Romans1:9

  6. Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8

  7. That was exactly the verse I was thinking of…..
also as you go through the treatment and many unknown things ahead, remember…

” I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” Philippians 4:13

  8. “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

Praying perfect peace for you and your family, as well as the ability to trust blindly and with joy.

  9. Stephen, I have been praying Isaiah 41:10 for you and your family. “Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

  10. I read this yesterday and thought about you and mom and dad:

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the HOPE of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, HOPE. And HOPE does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Romans 5:1-5

You have hope from the Lord. And that hope does not disappoint. Be encouraged today in him. Love you!

  11. Stephen, your writting and insight into your current medical condition and the Lord’s work in your life/future is truly inspiring. I can’t help but recall this bible verse when I read your desire and willingness to open yourself to others as a witnessing tool for “all men”…. to see and know that God’s work is at hand to shape your goals. Your Patient self-control; restraint and tolerance is remarkable.

Philippians 4:5 ” Let your forbearance be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.”

  12. “The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.” Zephaniah 3:7

  13. I am reminded of one of my most favorite passages in Scripture and I’m praying it for you and your family: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything with prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving; let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
I am asking Him to guard your hearts and minds with His peace as you continue to trust Him and pray about everything.
